Week
Introduction
Mayor Duitsman has been requested to proclaim December 18 -23 as Gifts
Anonymous Week.
Background
The Gifts Anonymous program was founded in December, 1970, by the
faculty wives and will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. There
will be representatives from the faculty wives, Lioness Club, and CAER
present on Monday evening to receive the proclamation from Mayor
Duitsman.
Action Requested
Motion to proclaim December 18 -23 as Gifts Anonymous Week.

PROCLAMATION
Proclaiming December 18 -23, 1995, as
GIFTS ANONYMOUS WEEK
WHEREAS, the GIFTS ANONYMOUS program was founded in
December, 1970, by the Elk River Faculty Wives for the
purpose of providing Christmas gifts for families living in the
Elk River area who were experiencing financial difficulties;
and,
WHEREAS, for the past 25 years this mission has been accomplished
through the combined efforts of the Elk River Faculty Wives,
Sherburne County Human Services, CAER of Elk River and
the Elk River Lioness Club; and,
WHEREAS, local service organizations, churches, school groups,
• individuals, and businesses have whole - heartedly
contributed to the success of the program; and,
•
WHEREAS, the GIFTS ANONYMOUS program has established a goal of
collecting 2,500 gifts during its 25th year and the community
will work to achieve this goal.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Henry A. Duitsman, Mayor of Elk River, do hereby
proclaim the week of December 18 -23, 1995, as GIFTS ANONYMOUS WEEK
in Elk River.
