SUBJECT: Annual Renewal of Licenses
5.7A. - KENNEL LICENSES
A commercial kennel license is required of any person having more than
three dogs over six months of age on their property. The fee for a kennel
license is $75.00. A conditional use permit must be granted prior to receiving
a kennel license. The Community Service Officer inspects all kennels to
ensure compliance with their conditional use permit requirements.
All of the listed kennel applicants have had their kennels inspected and
• approved by Cheryll Edinger, Community Service Officer with the exception
of Grace Ostein. Grace Ostein was granted an extension to comply with one
of the conditions of her CUP. The extension was granted until December 31,
1995, to allow time to construct kennel runs. At this time, I have not
received word as to whether Ms. Ostein has completed construction of the
kennel runs. I will update the Council on this item at the meeting.

5.7D - BOWLING ALLEY LICENSE
Bowling alley licenses are renewed on an annual basis. The Elk River Bowl
is the only bowling alley in the City. The license fee for a bowling alley is
$50.00 for the first ten lanes and $5.00 for each additional lane.

5.7E - THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE /ESTABLISHMENT LICENSE
The City of Elk River requires a license to operate a therapeutic massage
establishment ($150.00 license fee). The City also requires a license to
practice massage therapy ($100.00 license fee).
