SUBJECT: Consider Purchase of Property
A closed session of the City Council has been called as authorized by law to consider the
purchase of property. Following discussion of the purchase negotiations at the closed
session, the Council may take action on the purchase at the open meeting. The action
taken at the open meeting must include the terms and conditions of the purchase.
Mr. John Babcock has approached the City with an offer to purchase the property known
as Bailey Point. This property was identified years ago by the Parks and Recreation
Commission as the number one priority park land purchase. The property, if acquired,
would be used as a passive nature area with a trail and open space; the vast majority of
the property would remain essentially the same as it is now.
