SUBJECT: Hillside City Park Grant
Item
The Parks and Recreation Department would like to apply for a grant through the DNR
Outdoor Recreation Grant Program. This grant is due to the DNR by March 31, 2006 and,
if awarded, would be for work performed in 2007 and 2008.
Background
Hillside Ciry Park has become a very popular facility for mountain biking with a regional
draw. We have received many letters of support for improvements at this facility. The total
proposed budget is $199,022. The grant would cover 50% of the project expenses. I have
attached a budget and a site plan for your review.
Action Requested
Staff requests the Parks and Recreation to recommend authorization allowing staff to apply
for this grant.
