SUBJECT: Major Park Use/ 2^d Annual Taste of Elk River
Request
The Elk River Rotaty Club has requested use of Lions Park and Lions Paxk Centex fox their
2.,a Annual Taste of Elk River event. The event is scheduled fox Thursday, May 17a' from 5-
9pm and use of the park is requested from Wednesday, May 16a' through Friday, May 18a'
for set up and take down.
Information fox roux consideration
^ The event is a 21 and older event and tickets will be sold in advance by Rotary
members.
Elk River Police will be providing security and checking IDs.
^ Elk River Parks and Recreation will have a staff person on site.
^ The first year was a huge success.
^ The group is responsible fox all set up and clean up.
^ Elk River Rotary qualifies as a non-profit group and would qualify for non-profit
pricing.
Staff Recommendations
Approval of this event with the following fees:
1. Lions Paxk Centex Meeting Room $25 rent, $15/hour fox building supervision
2. Refundable deposit $100
3. Portable Toilets $80/extra unit
Total due: $260.00 plus $100 refundable deposit

Dear Michele:
On Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 5 - 9 p.m., the Elk River Rotary Club
will host the 2"d Annual Taste of Elk River at the Lions Park Center
complex. The event will give local restaurants, catering business and
spirits vendors an opportunity to showcase their food and wine to the
people attending this event. Due to the marvelous success of last
year's event, we are planning for up to 1,000 people to attend.. The
same parameters will be utilized again this year -pre-sold tickets (21
and over), tents, music, food spirits and plenty of fun for everyone who
attends. _
We respectfully. request that the rental fees for the use of Lions Park
be waived once again, as was the case last year. We understand and
agree to pay for such incidentals as extra satellites and building
supervision. Thank you for your consideration of our request. We are
certainly looking forward to another successful and enjoyable event for
the community. (~
