ACTION REQUESTED
Adopt the attached resolution appointing the election judges for both the Primary and General Elections
for 2010.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Minnesota Election Law, 204B.21(2), requires election judges for precincts in a municipality to be
appointed by the governing body of the municipality at least 25 days before the election at which the
election judges will serve. Attached is the resolution with the judges listed that have been assigned to
work the Primary Election on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, and/or the General Election on Tuesday,
November 2,.2010.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The judges will be paid an hourly wage of $8.50 and Co-Chairs receive $10.50 per hour. Money has been
budgeted in the 2010 election budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES
FOR THE ELECTIONS OF 2010
WHEREAS; pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 204B.21(2), the City Council shall
officially approve the appointment of election judges; and
WHEREAS; the Ciry of Elk River Ciry Council hereby adopts the judges listed on
Exhibit A, hereto attached, as the official judges for the August 10,
2010 State Primary, and the November 2, 2010 General Election,
with the understanding that changes may be necessary to the
appointments in order to fill vacancies and meet party splits.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Ciry of Elk River,
Minnesota, that the names listed on Exhibit A, hereto attached, are the Official Election
Judges for the City of Elk River, State Primary on August 10, 2010, and the General Election
on November 2, 2010, and the Ciry Council further authorizes the City Clerk to appoint
additional judges if and where needed.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 12`" day of July 2010.
