Staff requests Council's approval of the bid received from Pearson Brothers for the 2010 annual seal coat
improvement program, less Fillxnore Street, for the adjusted total of $172,490.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The following bids were received:
^ Pearson Brothers $187,490
^ Caldwell Asphalt Co. 206,794
^ Allied Blacktop 212,776
Staff recommends the deletion of Fillmore Street from this year's seal coat program due to budget
constraints and since the bid was received as a per unit bid, this would reduce the bid by $15,000 for a
total of $172,490. The final cost of the 2010 Seal Coat Program, including previously purchased rock
for $3,600, brings the total cost to $176,100.
Pearson Brothers have a long history with the City and have completed seven annual seal coat projects
in the past. Their job performance has been excellent and staff feels confident in recommending them
for this year's project.
