Staff requests Council's approval to hire the architectural firm, SEH, Inc., to complete a Public Works
site master plan in the amount of $15,000.
Background/Discussion
The Public Works facility that houses the Street Division, Park Maintenance Division, and Fleet
Maintenance Services is 24 years old and over crowded. The main issues are the lack of equipment
storage space, plus the fact that our fuel pumping system is out dated and the fuel tanks are single walled.
The most pressing need is to update the fuel tanks and pumps, but an entire site study is warranted so the
fuel tanks will be located in the proper place when the facility expansion takes place. The 2010
Government Building Reserve Fund has $250,000 designated for updating the fuel system
Financial Impact
The 2009 Government Building Reserve Fund had $50,000 designated to fund the professional services
for a site master plan.
