SUBJECT: HRA Update- Councilmember Motin

Councilmember Modn is also a member of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
(HRA). The HRA meets at least monthly on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
Accordingly, at this October 22, 2001, meeting, Paul is scheduled to give an update on HRA
activities.
Most rccendy the HRA has begun work with Jim Prosser of Ehlers and Associates, Inc., in
order to establish a plan and framework for redevelopment of certain areas in the older
downtown commercial district. A redevelopment approach by the city which includes some
established goals, identification of problems, definition of redevelopment areas, etc., needs
to take place before redevelopment proposals are requested. Additionally, progress is being
made on the historical context study that was authorized by the HRA in August.
