The resolution needs to be signed by the Mayor and the City Clerk. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION The City of Elk River Police Department has been the coordinating agency for the Sherburne County area for traffic grant purposes for almost twenty years. Officer Todd Erickson is responsible as the grant coordinator to submit and monitor the grant allocations. I have attached a summary for the grant request. If approved, this portion of the yearly grant would provide the City of Elk River alone with over $44,000 for specialized traffic enforcement. FINANCIAL IMPACT The grant award requested is $138,218. The State Patrol would receive $33,379.50. The County and remaining cities would split $104,838.50. The split is based on number of officers assigned by each department. There is no match required. These numbers could be reduced as the grant goes forward. ATTACHMENTS Enforcement budget.
