Consider Resolution Designating the Maximum Household
Income Level for Qualification for Deferral of Special
Assessments Based on Hardship
Chapter 62, Section 1 of the Elk River City Code addresses the deferral of special
assessments. Citizens may defer special assessments if they are 65 years of age or older or
retired by virtue of permanent and total disability. In order to be eligible for the deferral, the
applicant must meet the household income levels as established by resolution annually by the
City Council.
Attached is a resolution setting the maximum household income levels for 2003. As in the
past, the income levels are the same as those used for the State of Minnesota's Energy
Assistance Program.
Action Requested
The City Council is asked to adopt the attached resolution designating the maximum
household income level for qualification for the deferral of special assessments based on
hardship.
