Amended budget request
We have a need to purchase one additional DVI workstation to be used by Kathy Anderson.
When the DVI equipment was purchased Kathy had not yet decided if she was going to stay
on in her current position or possibly even resign. As a result of that unknown, the
equipment was not ordered for her office.
Now that Kathy is staying we need to purchase the dictation equipment so that she can type
dictated memos, reports, confidential statements and correspondence. The cost for the extra
station is $2,020 plus tax. Of this cost, $1,200 is the license fee and $820 is the installation
and training. It would tie into an existing port of the DVI server so that keeps our cost down
to a minimum.
I am not certain that my budget will absorb this unforeseen cost. I am asking you to consider
bringing this to the Council for an increase to the departmental operating budget for 2003.
Please advise how you would like us to handle this request.
