ACTION REQUESTED
Authorization to order aSki-Doo Skandic grooming snowmobile in the amount of $9,725.63 from
Truman Welters of Buffalo for delivery in 2011.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City owns three Ski-Doo Skandic snowmobiles for grooming cross-country ski trails. These are on a
seven year replacement schedule. During the review of the 2011 equipment replacements, funds were
designated for replacing the 2002 Ski-Doo Skandic. In order to take delivery of the machine in 2011, the
order needs to be placed in the next couple of weeks. The lowest quote vendor may have the item in
stock after the first part of the year; otherwise, we may not receive this snowmobile until the fall of 2011.
This is the same request for action that the Council approved in Apri12008 for the replacement of the
first snowmobile in 2009.
Staff received the following quotes:
Truman Welters, Buffalo, MN $9,100 plus tax
Honda House, St. Cloud, MN $9,675 plus tax
Staff is requesting authorization to place order with Truman Welters of Buffalo, MN for delivery in 2011.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The funds will come from the equipment replacement fund in the amount of $9,725.63. Estimated
budget is $9,950.
