Consider Gun Range Bids for Public Safety Project

On June 23, 2003, the Council voted to finish the gun range in the Public Safety building.
The mechanical part of the project has already been awarded leaving only the range
equipment yet to be awarded. Caswell Detroit Armor was the only bidder when this was bid
in 2002. Caswell Detroit Armor has informed the City that it will honor its original bid;
therefore, there is no need to solicit bids again. Staff, the construction manager, and the
architects have reviewed the bid and recommend award to Caswell Detroit Armor in the
amount of $108,075.00.
Action Requested
The City Council is asked to award the gun range equipment bid to Caswell Detroit Armor
in the amount of $108,075.00.
