Appointment of Assistant City Weed
Inspector
Minnesota statute requires the Mayor to act as a local weed inspector for the
city. The statute provides for the appointment of an assistant weed inspector
to act on behalf of the Mayor. The assistant weed inspector has the same
power, authority, and responsibility as the Mayor in the capacity of weed
inspector.
Phil Hals has been appointed to this position in the past and has indicated
that he would be willing to assume this position once again in 1997.
Action Requested
Motion to appoint Phil Hals as assistant weed inspector for the City of Elk
River for 1997.
