SUBJECT: Chamber of Commerce State of City
Address
The State of the City Address before the Chamber of Commerce is scheduled
for Tuesday, March 18, at the Elk River Country Club. Social hour will begin
about 5:30, dinner about 6:00, and the presentations after some brief
Chamber business will begin shortly after 7:00.
I have been invited to a planning session for this Chamber meeting on
Friday, January 24, so I would like to be able to advise the Chamber of the
topics which each Councilmember will be discussing. According to past
practice, each Councilmember will have from five to ten minutes to discuss a
topic(s) of their choice. It is nice to have these topics identified beforehand to
reduce the chance of duplication. Topics can include goals for future projects,
past accomplishments, ongoing activities, philosophical approach to
government, city-Chamber (or city-anything) relationship, etc. Please come
to the Council meeting with a topic or two in mind that you would like to
discuss during the State of the City Address so that I can advise the planning
committee of your intentions.
