Provide direction on Parks and Recreation Director hiring.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Two Parks and Recreation Director candidates, Steve Benoit and Michelle Olson, were invited back for a
second interview on October 4 by the Council, Parks and Recreation Commission representatives, and
department staff. Both candidates were interviewed by two interview panels. The Council did not make
a final decision on the hiring following the interviews pending further review and completion of reference
and background checks on the candidates.
The majority of that additional information will be available by Monday's meeting for discussion by the
Council. I will also present a recommendation from the interview panel made up of staff and Park and
Recreation Commissioners and provide my input on candidate selection.
