SUBJECT: Consider Meeting Dates to Review Fire
Department Compensation Proposal
At the February 3, 1997, City Council meeting, a special worksession meeting
was called for 5 p.m., on March 3, 1997, to discuss the Fire Department
Compensation proposal. Mayor Duitsman has advised me that he is out of
town on March 3, and accordingly, it would be appropriate to try to find a
different meeting date to review the Fire Department Compensation
program. The timing of a City Council worksession on this issue directly
relates to when the Council can get together with the entire fire department
in a joint meeting to review the proposal. The department is suggesting the
Council consider a joint meeting on March 13, 27, or April 3, at 7 p.m., at the
Fire Station. Based on our schedule it would seem like the Thursday, March
27, or Thursday, April 3 dates may work best.
One possible time for a one hour worksession with the City Council to review
the compensation proposal is the EDA meeting night of March 10, 1997,
either before or after the meeting. The Council also needs to cancel the 5
p.m. March 3 special meeting.
