AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 210.02 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING
TO MEMBERSHIP OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION
The City Council of the City of Elk River does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Section 210.02 of the City of Elk River Code of
Ordinances relating to residency requirements for members of the Public
Utilities Commission shall be amended as follows:
210.02 - MEMBERSHIP
The Public Utilities Commission shall consist of three (3)
members appointed by the Council. No more than one (1) member
may be chosen from the Council membership. Each member shall
serve for a term of three (3) years and until his successor is
appointed and qualified, except that of the members initially
appointed, one shall serve for a term of one (1) year, one for a
term of two (2) years, and one for a term of three (3) years. Ail
terms shall end on the last day of February, however, members
shall hold office until their successors have been appointed.
Appointments shall be made at the first regular Council meeting
in March. Each member of the commission shall be a resident of
the city of Elk River. A vacancy on the Commission shall be
filled by the Council for the unexpired term.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after the date of its publication.
Passed and adopted this 25th day of January, 1999 by the City Council of the
City of Elk River.
