Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Public Library Board was
called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Board Chair John Dietz.
2. Consider September 28, 2010 Library Board A eg nda.
JAYNE DIETZ MOTIONED AND KAREN STELK SECONDED TO APPROVE THE
AGENDA AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 4-0.
Consider Minutes of August 24, 2010 Library Board Meeting.
MIKE HANGAARD MOTIONED AND JAYNE DIETZ SECONDED TO APPROVE
THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 4-0.
4. Consider September 28, 2010 Treasurer's Report.
KAREN STELK MOTIONED AND MIKE HANGAARD SECONDED TO APPROVE
THE TREASURER REPORT AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 4-0.
Librarian's Report -Mick Stoffers
5.1. Handout
The Board was giving a "Sherburne County Public Law Library" handout last
meeting to review. This was nothing we needed to take action on, just
informational.
5.2. Fireplace
The fireplace is working! ! A sign is needed that shows patrons where the
activation switch is. Also a one way door is being considered from the fireplace
seating area to the Children's dept.
5.3. Self checkout
It has been moved and they have seen an increase in activity. You can pay fines
via credit card. John asked what % of fine we collect. Brandi will research and
report back at our next meeting.
5.4. OverDrive
The new platform for GRRL for Audio & E books, will be ready on 10/1.
5.5. Shelvine
Mick is looking into another company to purchase shelving for the extra office.
The original company wanted extra money to deliver.
5.6. Teen Section
The lights in the Teen Section have started burning out. Butch from the City has
found a replacement.
6. New Business
6.1. Sanitizer
Jayne asked about hand sanitizer available to patrons with the cold/flu season
approaching.
7. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. Next meeting will be
held on October 26, 2010.
