ACTION REQUESTED
Council motion approving a special event permit to the Elk River High School National Honor Society
fora 5K walk/run scheduled for November 13, 2010, with the following conditions:
1. No paint allowed anywhere on trails. Chalk or cones may be used.
2. If using a vehicle on the trails it must be clearly marked as a special event vehicle and extreme
caution must be used.
3. Any other requirements set forth by the parks and recreation department.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Elk River High School chapter of the National Honor Society is requesting to host a 5K walk/run
on Saturday, November 13, 2010. Below is a synopsis of the event:
• The 5K walk/run will begin and end at Meadowvale Elementary.
• The event begins at 9:00 a.m. with setup and assembly beginning at 7:00 a.m.
• The event is a fundraiser for Alzheimer's and the National Honor Society and is open to the
public.
• The school will be providing crossing guards at locations as outlined in attached route map.
