Appoint Brad Rolfe as interim police chief effective November 28, 2010, at 12:00 p.m.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
As we discussed at the worksession on November 8, 2010, an interim police chief needs to be appointed
until a new chief is in place. The position is expected to be filled soon as a recommendation on the
promotion of an internal candidate is tentatively scheduled to be presented to the Council on December
6. In the meantime I recommend that Captain Rolfe be appointed as interim police chief effective
November 28 at 12:00 p.m. Since this interim appointment is expected to be just over one week in
duration, no pay adjustment is recommended at this time. A recommendation for back pay will be made
on December 6.
