Staff interviewed three potential candidates for the position of Environmental and Code

position with Stems County.
Staff is pleased to announce we have an excellent candidate for the position. Her name is
Laurie Mezera-Kerr. She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University where she received a
B.A. in Local and Urban Affairs. She is working toward a Masters Degree in Public
Administration at Hamline University.
Laurie is currently employed as a Community Development intem with the City of
Anoka. She has done internships with the cities of New Hope, Golden Valley, Mounds
View and Hugo. At Mounds View and Hugo she dealt with recycling and solid waste
issues. Laurie is also a current member of the Sherburne County Waste Advisory
Committee.
The position of Environmental and Code enforcement Officer has been evaluated at a pay
grade "8". Staff is recommending Laurie is hired at step H, which is $13.18 per hour or
$27,414.40. We further recommend she receives the same cost of living increase as other
