Public Hearing
Request by Tooradj Bakhtiari (Time
Out Restaurant and Sports Bar) to sell
Intoxicating Liquor on Sundays
A public hearing is required if liquor will be sold before 12:00 noon on
Sundays.
Tooradj Bakhtiari has made application to operate Time Out Restaurant and
Sports Bar at the location of 19426 Evans Avenue, located in the City of Elk
River. This application includes the request to sell liquor in conjunction
with the sale of food Sunday through Monday. Because Mr. Bakhtiari plans
on selling liquor on Sunday prior to 12:00 noon, the City is required by the
State of Minnesota to hold a public hearing. Mr. Bakhtiari has requested to
sell liquor between the hours of 10:00 a.m. on Sundays and 1:00 a.m. on
Mondays.
According to the State Law, this public hearing is held for the sole purpose of
taking public comment on the issue of selling liquor between the hours of
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. State law automatically allows the sale of liquor
from 12:00 noon - 1:00 a.m.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Council motion authorizing the sale of liquor in conjunction with the sale of
food at Time Out Bar and Restaurant under the ownership of Tooradj
Bakhtiari between the hours of 10:00 a.m. on Sundays and 1:00 a.m. on
Mondays.
