To the City Council:
I notice in the Star News that the railroad plans to fix the Jackson and
Main crossings "this year" but how long will it be before we get some relief?
One of the foremen on the Meadowvale, Ogden and Zebulon crossings last
year told me they wanted to do the downtown crossings last year also, but
that there was some problem dealing with the city at that time. I hope that
was not true.
The people of Elk River have been waiting for YEARS to get those crossings
fixed. Why can't the council of a city the size of Elk River put some
pressure on the railroad to GET IT DONE?!
Now, will we have to wait months to get them started on the jobs, or could
the council harass them enough to get it done right away? I hope so. Those
crossings are a disgrace to our city. I seldom find any crossings like that
in other cities much smaller than Elk River.
I'd appreciate some action on this. Thank you.
