It was determined that a quorum was present. Visitor. Pat Klaers • The City of Elk River has purchased the Bailey house at the appraised price of $144,000.00 from the library's funtl balance • City Recreation will promote and advertise library activities in its bi-monthly publication. • Solid waste surcharge revenues designated for the library have increased significantly. 1999 -.$41.,000 2000 - $57,000 2001 - $80,000+ projected Secretary's Report • A motion was made by Jacobs and secontletl by Anderson to approve the minutes of the September 25, 2001 meeting. Approved unanimously. • There was no correspondence or suggestions from the suggestion box. Treasurer's Rebort A motion was made by Anderson and seconded by Jacobs to approve the Treasurers report of October 2, 2007. Approved unanimously. Librarian's Report • Computer stations. Mick has been researching price. She will contact Tom Mattson for a bid on building two stations. • St Cloud is holding two computers for Elk River pending purchase of computer stations, As the computers have both Internet and word processing capabilities, staffing for an anticipated increase in need for user assistance is a concern. • Steve Greene has completed the exterior painting (exterior doors, window frames, and above windows of original building) with exception of back door frame. This will be completed in the spring. In addition, a sealer coat was added to fence around air conditioner unit and windows were reoaulked. Mr. Greene indicated that paint above windows will only last several years and recommends replacing with vinyl at that time. • The light in parking lot has been repaired. • The motion detector is not yet installed, Mick will contact a different contractor, Cliff Skogstad. Light in storage room will also be replaced. Donna Anderson has resigned from Story Time as of the end of November. Mick will post the position as necessary in November if no replacement identified prior to that time. MLA Conference • Mick indicated conference was excellent.
