Meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chair McNair.
Secretary's report was approved with a motion by Murray and
a second by Eleanor. All in favor.
Mick gave each board member the current issue of Linking
Library Trustees.
Treasurer's reports from September and October were discussed;
a motion to approve was made by Bob with a second by Eleanor.
All in favor.
Librarian's Report:
Old Business:
Signs: Mick is working with Sarah at Public Works on completion
of signs for the library.
Book Drop Repaired: The Board thanks Murray for fixing the
outside book drop.
The Board reviewed the Service Master contract for carpet
cleaning for the library.
New Business:
Microfilm Reader/Printer Fund: With the donation of $100.00
from the Fraternal Order of Eagles and $2000.00 from the
Elmer Anderson Foundation we now have sufficient funds to
purchase a printer. Mick gave us information on a Canon
Microprinter 90 and the Board discussed it. It was moved by
Eleanor with a second by Bob to purchase this machine after
Mick tests it and finds that it meets the library's needs.
All in favor.
Panic Buttons: Panic buttons have been installed at all three
of the front desk stations.
Preservation Alliance of Minnesota Display: The Preservation
Alliance would like us to work with the Historical Society
on a display that features the ten most endangered historic
properties in the state. There would be three panels on
display in the library; the Society would ship to us and we
would assume responsibility and cost of shipping them back
to them. A motion in favor of this proposal was made by Bob and
seconded by Eleanor. All in favor.
Verne reported that a new graphic-based Dynix system will be
installed in our library on Wednesday. This will replace one
of the current installations; eventually all three of ours will
be replaced with the new system.
Respectfully submitted,
~'~~ I~~
