Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m.
The first item of business was the election of officers
for this year. The Board nominated Murray McNair for Chair,
Robert Jones for Vice Chair and Eleanor Holm for secretary.
After the vote was taken these members will function as
officers for the year 1999.
Murray welcomed our two new board members, Geraldine Graham
and Leslie Anderson.
Minutes from October were approved with a motion by Eleanor
and a second by Murray. All in favor.
There were no suggestion box items or correspondence to discuss.
After a brief discussion the treasurer's report was approved
with a motion by Eleanor and a second by Bob. All in favor.
OLD BUSINESS
Parking Lot Expansion: Work has been completed and the public
is very pleased with the results. The timer is now set for
the lighting.
Typewriter: We had a typewriter included in last year's budget
and Mick has been searching for one that meets the need of the
library staff. She has been working with Binsfled's in St.
Cloud in efforts to obtain one; Bob Jones, board member, has
one that may meet the needs. He will meet with Mick to
discuss this.
NEW BUSINESS
Y2K Problem Associated With Heating/Air Conditioning Controls:
Murray has been dealing with UHL company and will continue to
do so in resolving this problem.
MLA: Membership for 1999 has been submitted.
Shelving: Mick will order the much needed shelving.
Handicapped Accessible Door: The board felt the need of
further information from Big Bob's; Mick will obtain this
and we will discuss this again next month.
Verne reported that GRRL has hired someone to fill a
10/hr per week position in Elk River.
He also reported that GRRL has been working on the Y2K problems
and is confident that it will be functioning well by 2000.
