June 23, 1998

Also present: Mick Stoffers, Librarian
Meeting was called to order at 6:35 by Chair Ritchie.
Minutes from May were approved with a motion by Murray and
a second by Linda. All in favor.
There were no suggestion box items or correspondence to discuss.
Treasurer's report was discussed and approved. All in favor.
Two additional bills: light bulbs for overhead lights in the
library and a bill for furnace maintenance were presented
and approval of these bills was moved by Eleanor and seconded
by Linda with the provision that Mick check whether or not
furnace maintenance bill is covered by maintenance contract.
All in favor.
Librarian's Report:
Old Business:
Signage: Signs necessary to meet ADA requirements
have been ordered and are up.
Maintenance Update: The following repairs have
been finished: Putting up the plaques at the front entrance,
replacing light bulbs and planting flowers.
New Business:
Budget: The Board discussed the budget for 1999
with Mick clarifying points for us. We will have further
information next month on this; Mick recommends that the Board
look carefully at the Library before the July meeting to help
determine budget needs.
MLA Conference: This conference will be held
October 7-9 in Rochester. Mick and another employee will attend
and we will discuss at the July meeting about a Board member
attending also.
The Board asked Mick to get more information on the
Minnesota Library Trustees Association.
