Meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Chair Murrary McNair.
There was no Secretary's report. We received information from GRRL Director, Ken
Behringer, regarding accessibility information.
Elly moved May and June bills be approved as presented. Mary seconded. All in
favor.
Mick asked the board if they would like to thank the City for putting in the flower beds
and barrels and the volunteers who planted them. Linda will send a thank you.
Ants are back. Murray volunteered to spray again as he did last year.
Elk River Lions sent a check for $1,500 to the Friends of the Library to go towards the
new furniture. They have also received $500 from the Elk River Youth Hockey
Association and $500 from Elmer Anderson Foundation.
Cliff Skogstad from the City of Elk River reported on the summary by Inspec, Inc.
regarding the reroofing of the old part of the library. Inspec, Inc. recommended
reroofing with the built-up system rather than a single membrane replacement.. Cliff
said he could recommend either. After discussion it was decided the board would
recommend to the City that a single membrance be used to replace the current roof.
Cliff will let us know when the roof issue goes before the city council.
Meeting structure was discussed. It was decided meetings would stay as they are.
Those present felt they would like to see better communication between the City and
the Library Board.
