Meeting was called to order at 6:40pm by Chair Murray McNair.
The board welcomed Jennifer Lindahl who was in attendance to
observe the meeting as part of her high school government class.
Minutes of the March 19, 1996 meeting were approved as written.
There was no correspondence. Bills were approved for March.
Librarian's Report:
Per Cliff Skogstad (from the City of Elk River) Inspec, Inc. has
contracted with the City of Elk River to handle the process of
bidding for the new roof on the old part of the library. Inspec,
Inc. will inspect the roof, determine what needs to be done,
advertise and review bids for the work and propose which company
will do the work and test their work. The board felt the
proposed fees for this were a bit high.
The modulating hot water valve has been replaced and has been
okay for two weeks.
The new security system has been installed and is being tested.
It will cost more money per month ($3) than originally
determined as the system will require daily testing because
there is only one line. Still much cheaper than the other
system.
Mick distributed an updated board member list.
Verne reported that the new computer has been installed at
headquarters and is bigger and faster.
Meeting adjourned at 7:15.
