Dear Harvey
A couple of months ago I talked with Mick Stoffers at the Elk River
Public Library about art exhibits in the library. She took the
matter up with the Board of Directors. They are in favor of having
artists exhibit and expressed a special interest in having the "Art
Magnet" students exhibit.
The Library will be receiving some new shelves and furniture in
about a month which will make an increase in the wall space
available. There are four thirty-four inch wide panels that have
hooks for hanging and two three foot wide glass cases that lock.
The walls (non-brick area) will hold twenty-five to thirty-three
more pieces. The brick walls will hold nine to fourteen pieces.
By hanging one over the other, approximately one hundred average
size pieces could be hung in addidtion to what could be put into
the glass cases.
The pieces hanging from the walls would either have to be taped on
or hung by wire from the ceiling.
It has crossed my mind that you might be able to use the conference
room for demo,.^.straticns and a rac~Ytior.. T_ ha~~e nr>t discussed this
idea with Mick.
If your group would like to use the Library, you should contact
Mick Stoffers at the Elk River Public Library as soon as possible
so that your proposed use can be presendted to the library board at
their next meeting and so that facilities can be reserved.
Very truly yours
David V. Beauvais
