These classes are targeted for youth as young as 15 months through five years of age. Four types of classes are offered including Preschool Tumbling, Parent and Tot Tumbling, Parent and Tot Open Playtime, and Jump Jive-Exhale With Kids Cazdio. These classes utilize active play equipment such as balance beams along with music to teach coordination and movement in an enriching atmosphere. A full range of winter activities are available to the public ranging from skating programs to winter mountain bike races at Hillside Ciry Pazk. To aid pazents in future activity planning we have also included key spring programs and activities in this guide. The guide has been mailed to those who have participated in our recreational programs in the past. The guide is also available at key points throughout Elk River including Lions Park Centex and Elk River City Hall. The Elk River Parks and Recreation Department would like to remind the recreating public that "Winter Trail Rules" are now in effect in Woodland Trails Pazk. Walking and snowshoeing can be enjoyed on trails designated for those activities. All other trails aze designated for cross country skiing only. These trails will be groomed for cross country skiing when conditions permit. The ski trails and walking traIls in Woodlands are maintained by volunteers in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Department. There are maps at all trailheads showing which trails are designated for skiing and which aze designated for non-skiers. The Great Northern Trial, which is groomed between Meadowvale Elementary and County Road 33 is shared by walkers and skiers. Walkers must use the east side of this portion of the trail. The Great Northem Trail north of County Road 33 is plowed fox walking and running. Caution should always be used when walking on plowed trails and sidewalks in the winter. Icy sections should be expected at any time and depending on the weather, trail conditions can change quickly. The Parks and Recreation Department encourages the public to enjoy this great community resource and wish you enjoy your outdoor experience.
