Council motion appointing an Acting Mayor for 2011.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Per city code and state law the Council is required to appoint an Acting Mayor.
The Acting Mayor performs the duties of Mayor during the disability or absence of the Mayor from the
city, or if there is a vacancy in the office of the Mayor, or until a successor has been appointed.
Although all Counciltnembers are eligible for this appointment at any time, it has been past practice to
rotate this position. Listed below axe Acting Mayor appointments for the past few years.
