SUBJECT: Consider Commissioner Appointments/Assignments
In the past the EDA has maintained two standing committees, Finance Committee and Industrial
Marketing Committee, who meet on an as-needed basis.
The Finance Committee is actively utilized for review and recommendation of the Economic
Development Micro Loan applications and policy amendments to the EDA.

The Industrial Marketing Committee was utilized specifically for updates of the Strategic Industrial
Marketing Plan. The committee has been `in-active' since 2006 when the 2007-2009 Industrial
Marketing Plan was last updated. Staff recommends the EDA dissolve the Industrial Marketing
Committee due to the potentially changing nature of EDA marketing activities as a result of the
current Branding and Marketing Process.

Recommendation
Staff recommends that the EDA dissolve the Industrial Marketing Committee, and that the EDA
consider appointing EDA Commissioners to the following committees for 2011:
• Finance Committee
• Downtown Redevelopment Taskforce
• Energy City Commission
