Consider Initiating Rezoning and
Land Use Plan Amendment of

with Strategic Plan
Issue
It requested the City Council consider initiating rezoning and land use plan
amendment of certain properties from their present zoning to industrial to
comply with the recently adopted Strategic Plan.
Overview
As presented to the City Council in the Economic Development Strategic
Plan, eight areas have been identified which meet the criteria to be
considered for rezoning to industrial to meet the city's long term economic
development goals. The eight areas that will eventually be considered for
rezoning are shown on the attached map. At this time staff is asking the
Council's consideration to initiate a rezoning and land use plan on Areas 1
and 4. If the Council wishes to initiate these rezonings and land use plan
amendments at this time, staff will proceed with the appropriate public
hearing process and present these applications to the Planning Commission
and then have them forwarded on to the City Council.
Recommendation
It is recommended the City Council consider initiating the rezoning and land
use plan amendments for Areas I and 4 as illustrated on the attached map.
