Ver MEMORANDUM TO: Parks and Recreation Commission FROM: Michele Bergh, Recreation Manager DATE: February 3, 2005 SUBJECT: Staff Report January Programs Adult fitness classes - 8 classes per week, Weight Loss Success workshops, Parent and Tot Tumbling, Preschool Tumbling, Parent and Tot Open Playtime, Eager Elks Soccer, Eager Elks Basketball, Eager Elks Parent/Child Yoga, Eager Elks Kids Kardio, Eager Elks Yoga, Eager Elks Tumbling, Girl Power, Babysitting class, Parent's Night Out, Cheer America, Young Americans Self Defense, Team Ingemar, Soccer Camp, Family Skating Event, Downhill Ski and Snowboard Trips, Open Gyms, and Warming House/Ice Rinks. Syecial Marketing Efforts We will be participating in the Business Expo again this year and look forward to this marketing oppomi:uty. There are a lot of people that go through and it's a great way to promote our department and programs. Facility Use We scheduled approximately 185 hours of facility use in January. 56 of this was at Lions Park Center, 6 hours was at the Barn, 52 hours took place at the Handke East Hockey Rink, and the remainder occurred at various other city facilities. Wellness Committee We are once again offering a Healthy Living Challenge to city employees. The challenge begins February 7`h and runs for six weeks. It covers topics such as eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, exercising, taking time out to relax and more. We have also planned the year's activities and held a kickoff for city employees February 1".
