Hot Topic(s) of the Month
We are looking at applying for a grant for improving Hillside Park. This information will be
brought to the Commission for review in January.
We are already beginning summer 2006 planning. Some of our programs are listed in our
spring guide and need to be set up before the end of the year.
We have also begun working on the ice show at the Arena. Next year's theme is the movie,
Grease. We will be working to really improve the production and look forward to another
successful show.
We have also started working with a newly formed committee for Safe Schools. The focus is
not just schools but the community as well. The meeting in January will focus on the skate
park facility.
November Programs
During the month of November, we offered Yoga, Kickboxing Circuit, Yogilates, 50/50,
open gyms, Girl Power, Santa's Workshop, Parent and Tot Tumbling, Preschool Tumbling,
Parent and Tot Open Playtime, Kids Cardio, Eager Elks Tumbling, Eager Elks Indoor
Winter Soccer League, Women's Volleyball, Co Rec Volleyball, The Shopped at Lions Park,
and Skating Academy.
Facility Use
During the month of November approximately 100 hours were reserved for city facilities. 3
hours were reserved at the Barn, 25 hours at the Emporium, and approximately 60 hours
were reserved at Lions Park Center.

11-29-OS C.A.E.R. Fundraiser 75 people attended 335# of food collected & $145.00
Annual survey completed, results are being tabulated. Comments have been very
positive
Seniors have requested to put the Cable Channel 12 schedule in the newsletter. They are
interested in the Mayors Show, Chief of Police and Fire Chief Shows. Cheryll Edinger
continues to visit the center one time a month and they enjoy her talks.
The Medicare Insurance Counselor has been very busy helping the seniors with the
Medicare Part D. It has brought in a lot of new people.
Nov/Dec Tours
Nov. 13/14 Prairies Edge in Granite Falls
Dec. 1 Crossroads Shopping Trip
Dec. 4 Church Basement Ladies/Plymouth Playhouse
Dec. 5-9 Branson
There are 8 groups scheduled to entertain (Christmas Music) at the center in Dec. so far.
United Methodist Choir, Piano Recital, River of Life Church, River City Kids Music,
Dance Program, Christmas Musical, the Silvertones and the Sunshine Singers (young
children from Central Lutheran).
Dec 8 is the last Legion Dance sponsored by the Senior Center. I contacted the Women
of Today and the Legion and have not found any group to take it over at this time.
Meeting next week with the Monticello Senior Center Coor. to plan the tours for 2006.
