Introduction
Dan Hinote who is an Elk River graduate and a current player on the Colorado Ava]anche is requesting a
special use of Orono Pazk on July 22"d for a fund raiser for his charity. Hinote's Heros is a charity that
raises money for the Children's Hospitals in Minneapolis and Denver.
Discussion
The charity would like to reserve the entire park on July 22"d and would like to have the commission
consider waiving any fees to assist them in lowering their cost to put on this event. In exchange for
waiving any fees Hinote's Hetos is willing to assist the Parks and Recreation Department in advertising
and promoting their recreation opportuiuties. There will be approximately 300 people in attendance both
from Elk River and out of town. The charity is currently lining up celebrities (i.e. Matt Damon and Cindy
Crawford) is help with the event.

Ross-The event for Hinote's Heroes on July 22, 2006 at Orono Park is a non profit event with the proceeds going
directly to the Children's hospital of Minneapolis and Denver for children who have been unfortunately diagnosed
with some type of cancer. The event will consist of 3 activities: volleyball, bocce ball and horse shoes. Teams of
4 will divide their teams up for bocce and horse shoes and come together for volleyball. The actual event at
Orono park will be 4 hours long, with a dinner, live and silent auction to be held at the Elk River bowling alley later
that evening.
As of today, we do not have a list of celebrities. It's hard to determine who is coming during playoff season for the
NHL. Hopefuls on the list include Peter Forsberg, John Liles, Shjon Podein, Brett McLain, Rob Blake, Andrew
Brunette, Mark Parrish, Paul Martin, Joel Otto, Brian Rolston, Martin Gaborik, Willie Mitchell, among others.
There are some movie actors (guys from super troopers) that are long shots along with some others. This just
gives you a short list.
