Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Public Library Board was
called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Board Chair John Dietz.
2. Consider November 23. 2010 Library Board A enda.
AARON ZIEGLER MOVED AND MIKE HANGAARD SECONDED TO APPROVE
THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 3-0.
Consider Minutes of October 26 2010 Librarv Board Meetin¢.
MIKE HANGAARD MOVED AND AARON ZIEGLER SECONDED TO APPROVE
THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 3-0.
4. Consider November 23. 2010 Treasurer's Report.
MIKE HANGAARD MOVED AND AARON ZIEGLER SECONDED TO APPROVE
THE TREASURER REPORT AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 3-0.
Librarian's Report -Mick Stoffers
5.1. Board members
John Dietz will be resigning his post with the Library Board effective December
31, 2010, due to his new role as Elk River Mayor.
Jayne Dietz has reapplied to continue her tenure on the Board, as her existing
term is expiring soon. Her application will be addressed at an upcoming City
Council meeting.
Mick has sent a note to the Friends of the Librazy to see if anyone is interested in
applying for the Library Board open positions.
5.2. Maintenance Update
Much of the necessary maintenance identified in last month's maintenance check
has been performed. Remaining items will be addressed in the near future, as
resources are available.
5.3. Meetine Freauencv
Mick checked with the City Attorney's office to determine whether or not the
Board can meet bi-monthly, as opposed to monthly. This requires a change to the
bylaws.
AARON ZIEGLER MOVED AND MIKE HANGAARD SECONDED THE MOTION, TO
MODIFY THE EXISTING BY-LAWS OF THE ELK RIVER LIBRARY BOARD OF
DIRECTORS, AS FOLLOWS, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2011.
CURRENT MEETING FREQUENCY LANGUAGE: "Regular meetings shall be
held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the Elk River Public Library."
NEW MEETING FREQUENCY LANGUAGE: ""Regular meetings shall be held
on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at the Elk River Public Library."
MOTION PASSED 3-0.
6. Adiournment
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m. Next meeting will be
held on January 25, 2011.
