SUBJECT: 1997 Seal Coat Bids
The bid opening for the 1997 Seal Coat Program is scheduled for Monday,
July 21, 1997, at 10 a.m. As such, no information is available for inclusion in
the agenda packet. I will be present at Monday's meeting to distribute the
bid tabulation sheet and give a verbal recommendation.

RE: 1997 SEAL COATING PROGRAM
Dear Council Members:
On Monday, July 21, 1997 at 10:00 a.m., we opened bids for the 1997 Seal Coat Program. There
were a total of three bidders. The following table list the bidder and the total of their bid.

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. has previously completed successfully the seal coating within the City
of Elk River. The bid is within the amount budgeted, therefore, we would recommend award to
Bituminous Roadways, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder. Attached is a draft resolution for the
City Council's consideration which awards the project to Bituminous Roadways, Inc.
If you have any questions regarding this information, I will be available at your July 21, 1997, City
Council meeti'ng.

RESOLUTION 97 -
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF THE
SEAL COATING IMPROVEMENT OF 1997
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
pursuant to City Council direction, competitive bids were solicited and received for
the 1997 Seal Coating improvement as set forth in the bid tabulation attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and
the City Council has considered the amount of the bids and the responsibility of the
bidders and determined that Bituminous Roadways, Inc., is the lowest responsible
bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River,
Minnesota:
The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the
City, such contract with Bituminous Roadways, Inc., as is approved by the City Attorney
for the completion of the 1997 Seal Coating improvement according to the approved plans
and specifications.
The City Administrator is authorized and directed to forthwith return to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids upon execution of the contract above specified.
Passed and adopted this 21st day of July, 1997.
