Adopt a resolution acknowledging the donation of $1,000 to the police department from
Walmart.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Elk River Walmart has a long and close working relationship with the police department.
They have supported various charitable causes in which the police department has been involved
and have made periodic donations to the police department to support department operations.
The police department recently received a donation in the amount of one thousand dollars which
will be used to help defray the cost of training two new school liaison officers who will be rotating
in to the schools in 2011.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Receipt of $1,000 donation.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $1,000.00 donation from the Elk River
Walmart with the intent it be used by The Elk River Police Department for Detective
Training; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River
to acknowledge the support and commend the Elk River Walmart Store for their donation.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 7th day of March, 2011.
