SUBJECT: Update on Great Northern Trail & 221st Intersection Solar
Energy Legacy Grant Application
We have received preliminary notice that our project was selected to be funded from the
Solar Energy Legacy Grant allocations. The grant is a State match up to 75% of the project
cost. We had requested $90,113 from the State. The preliminary indications are that we will
be receiving $70,000 for the project. The grant committee met and determined based on
competitive bidding that we anticipate the project cost to come down to fully utilize the
$70,000. In addition, we will plan on listing several alternative items to make sure we don't
exceed the $30,037 City contribution which is coming from the intersection enhancement
budget fox 2011.
