The Mayor and City Council are asked to adopt the attached resolution acknowledging the monetary
contribution from James and Rose Holt to the police department pursuant to Minnesota State Statute
X465.03.
Background/Discussion
The City of Elk River Police Department received an unsolicited personal check in the amount of ten
dollars from Mr. and Mrs. Holt on Saturday, March 5, 2011 while the Chief of Police was in attendance at
the "mayor's breakfast" event at the Elk River American Legion. The check will be applied toward the
2011 police department training budget.
Financial Impact
A contribution in the amount of $10 was received.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $10 donation from Mr. and Mrs. James Holt
with the intent it be used by the Elk River Police Department for officer training; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the City of Elk River
to acknowledge the support and commend Mr. and Mrs. Holt for their donation.
Passed and adopted by the Ciry Council of the Ciry of Elk River this 21st day of March
2011.
