Lift Station Control Panel Replacement

Authorization to accept the low quote received from Quality Flow Systems, Inc., to complete the
replacement of the control panels at the Highway 10 and Simonet lift stations.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The control panel and associated components at both the Highway 10 and Simonet Drive lift stations
have been scheduled for replacement in 2011 as budgeted and detailed in the Capital Improvements Plan.
We have developed a scope of work associated with the replacement during the summer of 2011.
Chief Operator Gary Leirmoe solicited quotes from 5 companies to complete the work. Two of those
companies never returned a call and a third decided at the last minute to not submit a quote for the work.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The two quotations received for the work are summarized as follows:
Electric Pump $52,050 (+ Tax)
Quality Flow Systems, Inc. $46,450 (+ Tax)
The quotes identified include the full price to complete both lift station control panels. We recommend
approval of the low quote submitted by Quality Flow Systems, Inc. Funding for the project will come
from the Sanitary Sewer fund. The quotes are well below the estimated project cost of $79,000 that was
included in the Capital Improvements Plan.
