Bore Ri Trailer Purchase
BACKGROUND:
Approved in the 2011 Budget was the purchase of a directional bore rig. The bore rig, trailer,
modular mixing system, and additional related equipment were budgeted for $200,000. At the
March Utilities Commission meeting, the Commission approved the purchase of the bore rig,
modular mixing system, and locator for $166,783.78. A trailer was not included in the March
request for action because they were not available through the agency bidding contracts from
which the bore rig was purchased.
DISCUSSION:
Two quotations were received by staff. Vermeer, which is the equipment supplier who had been
awarded the ERMU purchase of the directional bore rig, provided a quote for the trailer at
$16,330.00. St. Joseph Equipment quoted the trailer at $15,476.50. The quotations are attached
for reference.
