Conveyor Relocation and Related Work
In discussing the liquor store furniture, fixture, and equipment, it was noted
that the existing conveyor in the liquor store is in very good condition. In
this regard, the construction manager evaluated the possibility of relocating
the conveyor to the new store, therefore saving the city some money. The
attached material from Construction Manager Mike Parsons of Greystone
Construction Company indicates that the low quote to relocate the existing
conveyor is from Blatzheim Industries, Inc. in the amount of $2,775. This
quote also includes the relocation of the beer chute, cardboard baler, and
reconditioning of the conveyor. As a back up the city always the elevator in
the new store to move the products up and down from the basement storage
to the main floor. Staff concurs with the recommendation to award the
relocation work to Blatzheim Industries, Inc. in the amount of $2,775.

Proposals were also received for a new conveyor. The pricing ranged from $10,644 to $17,500. The
reuse of the conveyor equipment and beer bottle retum chute saves the City money and keeps the
material out of the landfill. The facility is not compromised by re-using the equipment.
The budget is $5,000. The current cost status report indicates a projected amount of $8,875. The
recommended award to Blatzheim Industries Inc. represents a savings to the project of apx. ($ 6,100).
