SUBJECT: Off Leash Dog Park
Parks and Recreation staff have received numerous requests for an off leash dog park. After
reviewing several possible locations, staff has identified the northeast corner of Lions Park as
a viable site for an off leash park. This space is a mowed area that is not being utilized for
active recreation at this time.
An off leash park would consist of a fenced area of approximately 20,000 square feet and
would require a path connection to the main trail in Lions Park. A doggie pot and picnic
table would be provided. The approximate cost of this off leash park would be $6,500.
Is the Commission interested in exploring the potential of an off leash dog park for 2005?
