Set effective date of promotion for Annie Deckert as Economic Development Director effective May 24,
2011, at pay step A.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On May 18 the Council promoted Annie Deckert to Economic Development Director. The Council did
not state an effective date or pay step, but did request that the position title be reviewed.
Ms. Deckert is currently paid $56,505 as Marketing and Business Development Administrator. Step A of
the Economic Development Manager range is $68,336 which is a pay increase of $11,831. Ms. Deckert is
requesting she be paid at step B, $71,351 or an increase of $14,846.
Finally, the Council requested review of the title of this position. To be consistent with other division
manager titles, the position should be titled Economic Development Manager. If the Council prefers to
change the title to Economic Development Manager, it should be included in the motion.
