Mayor and Council to present retirement plaque to Community Service Officer II Bob Swenson.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Community Service Officer II (CSO II) Bob Swenson is retiring after serving the Elk River community
for over 23 years. Bob started his career with ERPD in April of 1988 as a police reserve officer. In 1992
he was promoted to part-time CSO and in 1994 was moved to full-time status as a CSO II.
Bob's experience and knowledge will be greatly missed by the department. He is recognized as the
"master" of the vehicle lock-out and rarely finds a vehicle he cannot open for a distressed owner. His
knowledge of animal control techniques, animal tranquilization, and animal behavior has served the City
well for many years.
Bob wishes he could continue with his duties with the City, but due to health concerns he has decided to
retire. His last day with the City will be June 17, 2011.
